What are Tama-Toledo’s Top Ten... reasons for hosting riders in your home and volunteering to help with RAGBRAI?
Tama-Toledo last hosted RAGBRAI® in 1995. Some residents who experienced that would tell you that they want nothing to do with hosting the event in 2008. However, there are many more who tell us that they’ve made great friends by opening their homes (or just the back yard) to past riders, and by volunteering to help with the community effort to host the event. RAGBRAI® is a not-so-small moving city all it’s own...and cities that size have problems so you can bet there will be a few...but RAGBRAI® organizers also point out that every year we learn from past mistakes and in the many years that have passed since the last Tama-Toledo RAGBRAI® experience the riders and the ride itself have matured.
It’s a good bet that any riders you permit to stay in your home will be very respectful and very grateful for your hospitality. Donate a few hours of your time before, during or even after the event and you’ll earn thanks from riders, drivers and your neighbors alike.
Help us emphasize the positive and share your RAGBRAI® experiences and enthusiasm with others by giving us your TOP TEN REASONS TO PROVIDE HOUSING or VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH RAGBRAI® XXXVI IN TAMA-TOLEDO IN 2008.
We’ll collect your entries and publish a final Top Ten list in the coming weeks. You might even be asked to read some of your list “on camera” for future publication on our MooTube08 YouTube® channel. A star is born!
You can submit as many or as few “Top Ten” reasons as you like and you don’t need to be a Tama-Toledo resident to participate. Your name and contact information are optional so you may remain anonymous if you wish.
